Joseph Saraceno

President and CEO

Joe comes from a background in Public Accounting and International Tax.  He received his B.S. in accounting from Dominican University and his Master’s from DePaul University.  Joe is also a licensed CPA.  During his time in public accounting, Joe took part in 3 audits of Mayslake Village.  This is where Joe’s passion for our residents developed and what led him to join our team in 2018.  Joe served as our Director of Accounting, Vice President, and Deputy CEO before being named President and CEO on July 1, 2022.  Joe encourages each of his staff members to pride themselves on the relationships they develop with our residents and the impact they make on their lives every day.  He believes that Mayslake serves as a shining example of how to keep our older adults active, social, happy, and healthy in their golden years.  Joe and his wife Liz have three children and in his spare time serves as an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park.

Leah Banda

Executive Assistant to the President and CEO

Leah joined our team in June 2022 and supports Joe Saraceno in all projects that help create a safe and fulfilling community at Mayslake Village.  She brings organizational guidance to help staff work towards our mission.  She also helps fundraise for Mayslake Village’s Spread the Health Program, which provides financial assistance to our residents with their vision, dental, and hearing needs.

Tricia LeCompte

Director of Accounting

Tricia joined Mayslake Village in December 2019 as a Senior Accountant. She was promoted to Manager of Accounting July 2020 and then took over as Director of Accounting January 2022. Tricia completed the MBA program at Aurora University in Aurora, IL. She is responsible for all financial reporting and oversees the accounting department.  She loves getting to speak with residents daily and that each day brings a new challenge.

Jane Trainor

Director of Wellness

Jane joined Mayslake Village in January 2021. Jane previously worked for Lewis University, Romeoville, IL. as a Nursing Professor. She has been bringing nursing students to Mayslake for 20 years for assistance with vaccination clinics, health fairs, educational presentations, and Blood Pressure screenings. The focus of her academic and professional career has been on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for the senior population. In Jane’s current role, she is responsible for the wellness and safety of the Mayslake residents. She also facilitates and oversees all partnerships with the health care providers that care for the residents in the Wellness Center. Jane is instrumental in developing and initiating additional partnerships to fit the health care needs of the residents.  Jane and her staff see residents in the Wellness Center on a daily basis for various health care needs specific to their stage in life. She works collaboratively with Social Services to ensure the overall health and safety of the residents.

Elias Almazan

Director of Maintenance

Elias re-joined Mayslake Village in 2019 as Director. He was the Maintenance Supervisor at Mayslake Village from 1995 – 2001. Elias oversees campus maintenance, housekeeping, security, transportation, and landscaping. Prior to joining Mayslake Village, he worked as the Chief Engineer at the College of DuPage. Elias is licensed through the City of Chicago as an Operating Stationary Engineer.

Kevin Kim, LCSW

Director of Social Services

Kevin brings over 10 years of experience working with the senior population in Illinois. His main focus has always been trying to assist seniors to remain in their community safely, independently, and with dignity. He has assisted seniors in accessing services and benefits that provide them financial flexibility, access to community resources, advocacy, and education on a variety of topics. Kevin started off at Mayslake Village as an Associate Director in 2018 and became the Director of Social Services in 2021. Kevin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received his Master’s in Social Work at Dominican University.

Charles Gerth

Chief Engineer

Charles brings over 35 years of experience in the mechanical and plumbing fields. He joined the Mayslake Village team in 2017. Charles strives to provide a safe and sound structural environment for residents. He is a certified plumber and a Stationary Engineer.

Lilia Alonso

Resident Accounting Manager

Lilia started at Mayslake Village in 2013.  She served as a Certification Specialist before taking over as Manager of Resident Accounting.  She manages compliance procedures with residents’ certification requirements every year.  In addition, Lilia oversees all move ins and is also involved in helping with Mayslake Village’s Men’s Club accounting activities.

Katie Schneider

Life Enrichment Coordinator

Katie joined Mayslake Village in December 2022 and is responsible for planning and coordinating a vibrant Life Enrichment program for Mayslake Village residents. Programs include arts and crafts, ceramics, exercise, theater, entertainment events and parties. She also oversees resident volunteers, the monthly newsletter, and event flyers to market programs. Katie has worked in a variety of areas, including corporate events, customer service, the wedding industry, and healthcare.

Fr. Bill Rooney, OFM

Chaplain of Mayslake Village

Fr. Bill Rooney began as the Chaplain for Our Lady of Mayslake Village in 2022.  Previously, he has been the Pastor at St. Mary’s (Memphis, TN), Our Lady of the Lake (Ashland, Wisconsin), and St. Rose of Lima (Lakewood, Ohio).  He is solely entrusted in a stable manner with the pastoral care of Mayslake Village. Canonically, Our Lady’s Chapel is an Oratory located within the boundaries of Notre Dame Parish of Clarendon Hills.

Our Enrollment period opens 1-2 times a year for a limited time. To get more information about Mayslake Village or our enrollment process please reach out to us with any questions!

Mayslake Village Chapel Info

Our Chapel at Mayslake Village offers a place for quiet reflection, prayer and worship. Services are regularly scheduled and Mass is celebrated daily except on Monday. Communal services for Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick occur regularly.

Weekly Mass Schedule:

  • Monday – no Mass
  • Tuesday through Friday- 10:00 a.m.
  • Saturday – 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 9:30 a.m.

Residents offer a Bible study for those who are interested. There are various opportunities offered throughout the year for residents to attend in the Chapel that pertain to furthering one’s faith.

Consultation with the Chaplain of the Chapel is available via appointment.
